Introduction
My name is Christa Evans Heath, and I am enrolled in
the Education Specialist Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw
State University. I began the program in Summer 2013 and will graduate
Fall 2014. I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2008 with a
Bachelor’s degree in History Education. Immediately after graduation, I
began my Master’s of Accomplished Teaching though Valdosta State University and
graduated in Fall of 2010. I have worked as a middle school Social
Studies teacher since my graduation.
I currently teach social studies to 8th grade students at Holcomb Bridge Middle School in Fulton County. I have taught two years in 6th grade as a special education social studies teacher and three years in seventh grade general education teacher. Prior to an education career, I worked in the travel industry, and ten of those years for a travel technology company. I was a member of Fulton County Schools Technology Leadership Forum for the 2012- 2013 school year and currently part of Fulton County School District Vanguard Team. I was honored to be a part of the Georgia Middle School Association Team of the Year for 2013. As a KSU alumnus, I am aware of KSU's reputation as a leader in education programs which led me to pursue the Specialist's Degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology. While working to complete this degree, I plan to work with my peers as an instructional technology specialist.
This portfolio displays my mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE NETS-C standards. T The portfolio is organized by a series of links running along the top of the page. Under the standards link, you will see a series of artifacts and reflections documenting the work I have completed during my graduate program. Each artifact represents mastery of the PSC/ISTE standard under which it is represented. I suggest that you become familiar with the standards and view each artifact with the standards in mind. Please feel free to explore the products which reflect engaging and meaningful instruction using technology in instruction.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kennesaw State University, and I believe with the experience gained through this program I am able to further integrate technology into my classroom as we educate 21st century learners as well as support my peers in their development with using technology.
